Tillage Techniques

There are a number of techniques for crop establishment which can be categorised into four main groups: full soil inversion methodology achieved with the plough as a primary cultivator, reduced tillage which eliminates the use of the plough, strip tillage – a one pass system which utilises selective tillage and direct drilling (also known as zero tillage or no-till) where the seed is placed into untilled soil without any soil cultivation.

Whilst all systems have their own advantages and shortcomings, we believe strip tillage to be the most advantageous establishment method, offering farmers a means of running a profitable operation through providing the optimum seeding environment, whilst preserving the soil goodness.
